March Fun Stampers Journey Coach Meeting

Another beautiful day!

On a monthly basis our Fun Stampers Journey Coaches get together to learn about new products and spend the day creating some amazing cards designed by the owner of FSJ, Richard Garay. We also individually design a card for the monthly hug / card trade.

We have a signature card that we call a "Hug". A Hug front is the size of an ATC (Artist Trading Card) which is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2. So to make a Hug card base, the cardstock is cut at either 5 x 3 1/2 or 7 x 2 1/2 depending on the direction you want your card to open up.

Our theme for March was Birthdays... I am pleased to say that my card was one of the winners of the challenge this month. I shared the honorary spot with Anita. Congrats Anita!

Sharon and I hold a monthly Creative Cafe Class together

As always we had a great meeting.  Richard's birthday is in March and he is a big Mickey Mouse fan, so we all surprised him by wearing Mickey ears and as well as created a special Hug / card just for him.  Happy Birthday to Richard!

Have a Blessed Day!

Why I Love Fun Stampers Journey Stamps

I have been stamping for many years and have used a variety type of stamps, including rubber and acrylic. There are many great stamp companies out there using varied product quality. This post is NOT about the comparison of the other stamping products / companies. It IS about why I love Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ) Rubber Stamps.

When the owner of FSJ, Richard Garay, started his company he new the importance of offering a quality product and he wanted the product to be manufactured in the U.S.A. After doing his due diligence and lots of research I feel he found what he was looking for.

Made in the U.S.A
Whoo Hoo!...The manufacturing company for all of the FSJ stamps is based in the U.S.A. - which employs local residents. The growth of FSJ will allow this U.S. manufacturing company to continue to grow and employ more residents - Now that's a win / win proposition!

Quality vs.....
There is certainly a variety of quality in the type of materials that is used for stamping. I was originally introduced to stamping by using an acrylic type product. I liked the ability to "see" where I was stamping. But when I was introduced to "red rubber" stamping, my eyes were opened to the crisp images that a good red rubber can produce. Although acrylic and some red rubber products can be at a lower price, I discovered that a good quality red rubber produces some amazing crisp imagery AND I now have the ability to use an acrylic block which allows me to see where I am stamping.

There are many rubber stamps available on the market that require the user to mount them onto a foam mounting which is needed to get the stamping effect...so that means, they purchase the stamp (at what they think is a great cheap price), then have to purchase mounting material for each of those stamps and then need to take the time to mount the rubber stamp, and then cut around the mounting material (so is it really that much cheaper...I really think, not). I feel that the rubber used for many of these stamps is not of the highest quality rubber (my opinion, of course).

The manufacturing company that produces the FSJ stamps uses only the highest quality red rubber available and is mounted onto EZ Mount and is ready to use out of the package.

So what is EZ Mount and why is that important?
An EZ Mount stamp set starts with the manufacturing of a deeply etched sheet of red rubber, which is mounted to a sheet of EZ Mount Static Cling Cushion and then very carefully cut out close to the image.

When you have the opportunity to use our FSJ stamps you will notice right away the amazing crisp imagery that you get - There is no need to push hard to try and push the full image onto your stamping surface. You will get a clear image very easily.

Once you are ready to use your stamps, you simply remove the individual images from the storage panel and apply it to an appropriate sized acrylic block.. When done stamping, clean your stamp with stamp cleaner (FSJ has an amazing stamp cleaner), or mild soap and water, then place it back on the storage panel for future use.

You will never have to replace the EZ Mount Static Cling Cushion because it is guaranteed for life.

I hope this information has been helpful! I have been using Fun Stampers Journey Stamps for over a year and I am so pleased with the quality of this product. The fact that the stamps are made in the U.S.A. is an added bonus.

Have a Blessed Day!

Happy Spring / Easter

We have been having some beautiful weather here in California…and with Easter just a few short days away, I wanted to share a beautiful card with you designed and made by the owner of Fun Stampers Journey (FSJ), Richard Garay.  I got to make this card at our last FSJ meeting.
The Spring Garden stamp set was used for the flower and leaves… The bunny and greeting comes from the Bunny Tail ATS - The Enjoy ATS (tag) was was also used,  The dinner service setting was covered by a piece of lovely blue card stock.
Journey Glaze and a dash of Journey Sparkle was used to give this precious card a completed look!
